The Indiana State Police is looking for volunteer chaplains to help support troopers, retirees, and their families.
The department says chaplains provide confidential support during routine duties, emergencies, and stressful situations. That can include crisis response, help during family emergencies, death notifications, and support during critical incidents.
Chaplains may also take part in ride-alongs and be available on-call when needed. The program is open to serving personnel of all faiths or belief systems.
To qualify, applicants must be ordained clergy and meet education or ministry experience requirements set by the department.
Those interested can apply online through the Indiana State Police volunteer opportunities page. Questions can also be directed to the agency’s wellness division by email.
