The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is accepting applications for new Conservation Officers.

Applicants must first complete a pre-screening test through the D-N-R hiring website. Those who pass will move forward in the selection process as additional steps become available.

To qualify for the test, candidates must be U-S citizens and at least 21 years old by October 30th. They must also meet the state’s new Physical Agility Test standard for law enforcement, which takes effect August 1st. The D-N-R website includes a demonstration video and testing guidelines.

Indiana Conservation Officers are fully sworn law enforcement officers. They enforce D-N-R regulations and state laws, patrol waterways, monitor hunting and fishing activity, and work on D-N-R properties.

The agency says officers may also serve on specialized teams, including search and rescue, K-9, scuba, and swift-water response units.
