Several Wendy’s restaurants in the region have closed or are expected to close this week.
One of the locations is in Princeton, Indiana, the hometown of Dave Thomas. Thomas founded Wendy’s in 1969, with the first restaurant opening in Columbus, Ohio.
The closures are reported to be part of the company’s “Project Fresh” initiative.
Under the plan, between 300 and 500 locations nationwide are expected to close during the first half of this year as the company eliminates underperforming or outdated restaurants.
Other southern Indiana Wendy’s locations reported to be closing include restaurants in Huntingburg, Ferdinand, Dale, and the Burkhardt Road location in Evansville.
