The search is on for a new basketball coach in Washington
Athletic Director Larry Cochren says interim coach Brandt Schuckman has informed the school he will not pursue the Washington Hatchet coaching position after serving in the role this past season.
Schuckman went 7-and-3 as interim coach and has spent 21 seasons on the Hatchets’ sidelines in various coaching roles.
According to the athletic department, Schuckman told school officials that business and family obligations would prevent him from giving the head coaching job the time it requires.
School officials thanked Schuckman for his leadership and long involvement with the program.
He plans to remain with the team as a volunteer assistant coach.
