The official announcement for this year’s Spirit of Vincennes Rendezvous was released Tuesday.
The 49th annual event is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, May 23 and 24, on the French Commons near the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park.
Organizers say the event will include more than 100 merchant and food booths, along with demonstrations of early frontier skills and period goods.
Battle reenactments of the capture of Fort Sackville are planned both days. Entertainment, music, and activities will take place throughout the grounds.
Visitors can also tour an encampment, participate in games and demonstrations, and attend candlelight tours at Grouseland on Saturday evening.
Admission is $12 for adults and $2 for children ages 6 to 12. Two-day buttons will be available for purchase in advance or at the gate.
Event hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
This year’s Rendezvous is part of the America 250 and Vincennes 250 commemorations marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
