Incumbent Republican Bruce Borders finished with 38% of the votes from portions of Knox, Daviess and Vigo Counties and all of Greene and Sullivan Counties and barely retains his seat as State Representative in District 45.

Currently no Democrats are filed to run against him in the fall election.

Knox County Kellie Streeter was looking to unseat Borders and finished with 35% of the vote.  Only 323 votes separated Streeter and Borders.

The third person in the race, a former State Rep, Jeff Ellington came in third with 27% of the vote.

In House District 64 where Knox County falls,  current GOP State Rep Matt Hostettler won Tuesday’s primary.

One state office holder from Jasper will continue his trek for a federal office while another Jasper resident currently in federal office looks to take Indiana’s top state political position.

State Senator Mark Messmer won the Republican nomination for U-S Congress in District 8 while U-S Senator Mike Braun won the Republican nomination for Indiana governor.

Both have competition in the November election as Messmer will face Democrat Erik Hurt.

Braun’s competition is Democrat Jennifer McCormick and Libertarian Donald Rainwater.
