Heart-to-Heart Inc. has received funding to support local families.
The organization was awarded a five-thousand dollar grant from the Duke Energy Foundation. Officials say the funding will go toward parenting education programs and essential infant care items for families enrolled in the program.
Heart-to-Heart provides support during pregnancy and through a child’s first two years of life, offering both education and material assistance.
A separate project tied to the funding includes updates to landscaping, replacing existing materials with low-maintenance ground cover and perennial plants designed to reduce upkeep and improve long-term maintenance.
Heart-to-Heart Executive Director Paige Williams and Duke Energy representative Kurt Phegley were present for the check presentation.
