A Knox County jury has found 41-year-old Brandon Stone guilty of battery on a pregnant woman, a Level 5 felony, following a trial in Knox Circuit Court.
The verdict was returned by a jury of 11 men and one woman. After the decision, Stone admitted to being a habitual offender.
Judge Monica Carpenter Gilmore has scheduled sentencing for a date in May.
Knox County Prosecutor Dirk Carnahan presented the state’s case. He thanked the jury, his staff, and Knox County Sheriff’s deputies who investigated the case.
Carnahan said laws designed to protect vulnerable individuals are important and commended the jury for reaching a verdict based on the facts presented.
